Mario and Ciara are set for an unexpected collaboration, and fans are ecstatic.
The “Let Me Love You” hitmaker revealed the upcoming song as the latest guest on Drink Champs. It is set to appear on Mario’s forthcoming album.
“Me and Ciara are actually working on something together right now,” he told Drink Champs host N.O.R.E. “It’s something fresh, and it’s a conversation I feel like R&B needs right now. The frequency of the record allows us to speak in ways to the opposite sex that haven’t been spoken about in a long time. She’s in a different place in her life as a woman… and so am I, as I’m experiencing love in a different way. We are going to make a classic.”
Mario and Ciara were two of the biggest stars of the millennium era. Hailing from Baltimore, Mario was 15 years old when he made his debut with “Just A Friend” in 2001. Ciara made her debut with “Goodies” in 2004.
Ciara has not responded to Mario’s claim at the time of this press release. A release date for the collaboration or album has been confirmed. Mario would share other revelations in his Drink Champs interview.
Talking to Nore and DJ EFN in Miami, the R&B singer offers an honest look at his career, struggles, and victories. He reflected on his rise from Baltimore, raised by a single mother who recognized his vocal gift and encouraged his dreams.
He expressed gratitude for fans worldwide, especially in Europe and South Africa, where audiences welcome him with passion. He recalled performing in stadiums with Snoop Dogg and Sean Paul, moments that deepened his connection to his music’s global impact.
He spoke about leaving the major-label system, sharing how he spent $400,000 of his own money on an independent project. The challenges taught him about ownership, the realities of streaming, and building generational wealth.
A standout revelation came when he discussed turning down an invitation to perform with Jay-Z at Madison Square Garden during the peak of “Just a Friend.” He trusted his instincts, determined to shape his own path.
He also described his creative journey and how industry rejection of a bold collaboration concept pushed him toward independence. Now, Mario is focused on New Citizen, a label and creative community that helps artists, producers, and writers control their legacies.
The interview underscored his resilience and evolving vision.
